Salt Born is a small selection of work from The LIFERS Project, presented at Whalebone. The LIFERS Project began in skateboarding and has since expanded across action sports, following people who share a common thread: chasing their passion through every season of life. Salt Born turns that lens on surfers and watermen, captured through the wet-plate collodion process — a tintype technique dating back to the 1850s. Following the opening, I'll be on site offering live tintype portrait sittings, one-on-one, from hand-pouring the plate to developing it in front of you.
