Sconset Roses and Sound View Sunsets: A Nantucket Week

I spent a week on Nantucket with my family, and while the town itself was bustling — packed with day-trippers and busy sidewalks — we found the island had a much quieter side once we knew where to look. Skipping the crowds in favor of back roads and lesser-known spots turned out to be the best decision of the trip. We found quiet beaches for long walks, spent relaxing afternoons together away from the noise, and ate some of the best seafood I've had in a long time.

The Beach Club Nantucket Island

There's something about stepping off the main strip and finding a stretch of sand with hardly anyone on it — just the sound of waves and the wind moving through the dune grass. One of the highlights was our little adventure on the Cliff Walk trail, which turned into one of those unplanned moments that ends up being a family favorite story. We also made it a point to catch the farmers market on Saturday morning, picking up fresh produce and snacks before the day got busy, and spent a good chunk of time at the Beach Club just sunbathing and relaxing. Those quiet moments, paired with fresh seafood and slow afternoons, ended up being what I'll remember most about the trip. Nantucket in high season can feel crowded, but it doesn't take much effort to find your own quiet corner of the island.
