Sunset Family Portrait Session at Sabino Canyon
Some locations just do the heavy lifting for you, and Sabino Canyon at sunset is one of them. I met up with this lovely couple and their baby who were staying nearby at Canyon Ranch, and we took advantage of the warm evening light for a quick mini portrait session.
We wandered the walking paths surrounded by saguaro cactuses, stopping whenever the light hit just right. The desert was quiet, the air was soft, and the baby was taking everything in—from the huge saguaros to the little desert plants along the trail.
Keeping things simple and relaxed, we moved through a few different pockets of light and let the natural scenery shape the portraits. Some of my favorite moments came from the unscripted bits—tiny smiles, quick glances between the parents, and the way the sun filtered through the cactuses behind them.
If you’re visiting Tucson or staying at Canyon Ranch and want a few great images to remember your trip, I’m always happy to make it happen.
